Tape Freaks Presents: February's Mystery Movie!

STILL SOLD OUT FOR ALL POSTED SHOWS.

BUT!!!

If you arrive when doors open, there are always a handful of tickets available day of. (Thanks to the kind patrons who reach out to the Trylon to release their tickets when they find they cannot attend!)

And incase there's any question about how we feel:
 ABOLISH FUCKING ICE.
(Mutual aid suggestions below.)

This month's move theme: Colette's Birthday Wildcard!

Hints: This month's movie is both an escape, and an illustration of how quickly and effectively community members with different skills and experiences can come together to defeat a common enemy. This is also a movie Tim and I tricked Izzi (my BFF who is no longer) into watching. She was FURIOUS and pretended to hate it until the very end when she involuntarily let out a genuine "AWWWWW!"

Content Warnings: Guns and gunfire. There are a couple scenes with guns and gunfire in tonight's movie. (If you would like more information on these warnings, or have concerns about other possible content, please feel free to reach out (through Facebook or info@TimMonsters.com) or even ask us at the theater. We want fun surprises for everyone!)

Mutual Aid Suggestion: If people are wondering how to get involved, or are in an area that isn't organized, or aren't terribly familiar with their neighbors, here are some suggested starting points.

Donate Money if You're Able: There are lots of places to donate (some in the links below) but chances are, you're connected to someone in need of support. Take for instance this Tape Freaks regular and their person, Jeffery and Linden. They could use a boost towards their financial goal, and we're just the community to give it!

Defend 612: A staple starting point. Here you'll find resources, artwork to use/print, scheduled trainings, etc.

Will Tell Stories For Food (Naomi Kritzer's blog): This is a great starting point for less talked about areas including: how to push back on disinformation, how to contact your elected officials, how to write a letter to an editor, MN news sources to follow, how to be prepared for this to happen in your area, where to donate money, and so on.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors - Twin Cities: This organization helps connect resources to needs. You can support them with time or donations, or you can utilize their services if you have a need!

Start Talking to Your Neighbors: If you don't know your neighbors, start getting to know them now. Start with reconnecting with neighbors you might have lost touch with and go from there. Maybe organize a hot beverage night [my neighbors recently did this with hot coco and cider, and optional boozy add-ins], a game night, a craft night, anything that gets people together and grows connections. From just that the needs of your direct community will start to reveal themselves, even if you never have to deal with what's happening here.

Everyone has their place in a resistance, every skill a way to be utilized.
